at a house party the she drank too much and passed out and three fellow classmates took advantage. when she woke she had drawings on her body, some in private areas, the boys took photographs and showed them off at school and posted them online. she found out and was humiliated. she took her life days later. >> what happened to her was tragic. it should never have happened. i hope they are brought to justice. >> it took that long is ridiculous. half a year? september? come on. i found that disturbing. >> after the attack she posted this on facebook, they took pictures of me, my life is ruined, this is the worst day ever. the boys will be formally charged next week at juvenile hall right now. her family plans to hold a news conference next week. they want to speak out in hopes of preventing what happened to her from ever happening to anyone else.

live in saratoga this morning for abc7 news. >> students going to school at san lorenzo high school lend of the death of a teen killed near campus on the tracks across from the school. investigators say the boy and two friends were playing a game of chicken that turned deadly. deputies are waiting to release the identity of the victim. he was with a 15-year-old boy and a again-year-old girl. the alameda sheriff says it is unclear how long the three teens were playing around before one of them was hit. we told he was hit by a northbound amtrak train and pronounced dead at the seen. deputies say the two friends were clearly shaken by what happened. >> oak woman is in custody this morning charged with leaving her baby in a hot car while she went shopping. police responded to a report of a child left unattended at the marina square shopping center on when. officers found a four-month-old girl inside crying his tearally. it was 80 degrees outside when

officers got there. she search the stores until they found the baby's mother and arrested her. police identified the woman as robin cham and the father took custody the bead after papers checked her out and determined she was okay. >> hayward police are asking for help in finding a 34-year-old man who has been missing since sunday. police provided this picture of the man. family and friends say they have not heard from him in five days which is very unusual. he always checks in, they say. he was reported missing on wednesday. according to police he was last seen sunday night in alameda. >> new details on the bay bridge bolt troubles. a comedy of errors caused the dozens of bolts do snap. experts say a series of mistakes by caltran and the manufactureers made the bolts susceptible to rain water. this includes improperly heating the bolts beyond industry standards, making them vulnerable to corrosion. officials say it could take

rides? >> yes. we will have one with the temperatures. >> absolutely, the spring seesaw is coming at us today and through the weekend. we will start off warm but by sunday and monday it will change at 10 to 15 and possibly 20 degrees cooler. we are at 14 degrees cooler in nevada, and nine degrees warmer in santa rosa and the rest of us are three to four degrees cooler putting up in novato at 39 degrees. 45 in santa rosa and 42 at napa and near 50 for most of the bay more and down to san jose at 48 and los gatos at 44 and concord at 50 degrees. here is what will happen over the next 12 hours. we are starting off clear with a few clouds at the coast our temperatures will hang out from 46 to 53 through 7:00. by noon it will be calmer and brighter, and 56 at the coast and 70 inland and temperatures around 61 to 74 at 4:00 and not so breezy and comfortable this evening with a light jacket and a heavy one at the coast.

cool and breezy for sunday and monday. that is the dip in the temperatures. we rebound in the 70's and 80's away from the coast in the middle to later of next week. here is what is happening and what happened while but were sleeping. high pressure dominating the weather. no front near us. this is the front for the weekend that will bring us breezes tomorrow evening and windy and colder weather for sunday and monday. saturday will be the calmest and remain whattest day in the weekend forecast. today not bad, 75 at santa clara and sunnyvale up to 77 and morgan hill. headed to the coast it will be 61 and 58 at pacifica and a breeze. low do mid-70's for the peninsula and millbrae to south san francisco we be in the mid-to-upper 60's with 60 around sunset. 62 at bodega bay and a breeze. calmer and warmer and mid-to-upper 70's inland and 69 in hayward and low-to-mid 70's for the east bay shore.

headed inland we fine the warmest weather and mid-70's to around 80 degrees in the east bay valley. tonight, it will be fairly clear and coolest inland with temperatures around 45 in santa rose and cool at fremont and palo alto at 46. and richmond, oakland, san francisco, and antioch around 50 to 52. the drop in temperature shows two to four degrees cooler on saturday and dropping another four to six degrees on sunday and another two to four degrees by monday. by monday the temperatures are 10- to 15-degrees cooler than today but warmer next week, almost like today. have a great day. >> as we look at the drive into central san rafael 101 southbound the tail lies are moving down 580 with a few extra folks. if sausalito, nobody, along 101 we have a couple of lane closings until can a.m. between waldo tunnel and spencer avenue so you could see delays into marin. we have more construction along the coast, north of the tunnel

eeee on their peers and the national hockey league is taking a stand because of the efforts of a san jose sharks player. the league announced it is partnering with the "you can play project" to make it more open for gays and lesbians.

bay. three, 16-year-old boys will be formally charged accused of sexaully assaulting a saratoga teen at a party. the 15-year-old killed herself eight days later. the sheriff deputies arrested the three boys yesterday, two at saratoga high school, the other at the new school in gilroy. detectives say audrie pott drank too much and passed out. the boys took advantage of her at the party. the family's attorney says she had no idea what happened until the next morning when she found drawings on her body including some in her private areas. she said the boys also took photos of the attack and posted them online. they want viral. she then took her life a week later. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard will have more on the tragic story. >> federal court is threatening the governor brown and other officials if state prison populations are not reduced. the three judge panel told the officials yesterday to meet an

end-of-the-year deadline to reduce evercrowding -- overcrowding or face contempt. the governor brown hoped to build the oversight saying the state spent billions to relieve overcrowding. the department of corrections says the inmate population is 120,000 which is 146 percent of design capacity. >> new this morning an east bay prosecution says two dozen people are facing charges this a financial aid scheme at contra costa college according to our media partner, the "contra costa times", with phony students receiving money to attend college but never want to class and all 22 people involved used the same two addresses belonging to a richmond couple, the ridge leaders. the couple, a woman and her boyfriend, ran the scheme like a business using flyers to recruit people. in exchange they asked for a 25

will begin next week so starting monday near interstate 680 will be partly closed and by summer they will dig near the expressway. >> in sonoma a federally protected bird is being killed by the very device that is designed to save they. about 35 songbirds have died after coming to california to nest. they are drawn to the petaluma river bridge where nets have gone up to keep them away from construction. over the last few weeks the swallows have been getting tangled in the nets and dying. the don't vacationist noticed the problem weeks away and notified caltran and things the nets should be removed in favor of another method. >> they could use sheeting or a special paint which are nonlethal methods. >> we are ordering a different type of net. we have been installing that. it is much more visible. and heavy duty.

sacramento amour pedestrians are killed in crosswalks in san francisco than new york city. on wednesday, a woman was hit by a pickup truck in a neighborhood off 280 in sunny side. the district attorney says the distracted drivers are to blame for many of the accidents including talking on the phone, reading, groom, all leading to an uptick in the number of accidents. >> 60 percent of our accidents on the crosswalks involve distracted driver. that is significant. if you look state-wide it is 45 percent. >> a court ruled that police can ticket drivers for holding their phone even if they are checking directions on a map. >> be careful out there. san francisco today will hold their first walk to work day. the event is hosted by the pedestrian advocacy group "walk san francisco." you are encouraged to walk, get healthy and save money on the

>> at 5:52 a san rafael teen has quite a story after he was rescued from the bomb of a steam vent at the hawaii volcano national park trying to jump over the protective railing and around the steam vent but the 15-year-old missed and plummeted 25' below. a search-and-rescue team rappeled down to get the boy. he suffered a bump on the head. he was very lucky. he will be okay. >> chose call for a pilot. this was caught on camera.

a southern california neighborhood is back in the wilderness. wildlife officers tranquilized the cougar and pulled him from under a house in glendale yesterday. they hoisted the animal into a truck while a crowd of people snapped pictures. the wardens drover -- drove the lion to the national forecast. >> a little tiger cub is ready for the great outdoors. she is prepared to show her stuff. she will go open exhibit today at eight weeks. at 14 pounds she is strong enough to meet her fans. this week, the yet unnamed cub and her mother explored the outdoor tiger pen. the zoo shared the photos. you can cash her from 2:00 to 4:00 this afternoon. the cub will be named by the winner of the zoo fundraiser. check out our website at abc7news.com and click on "see it on tv."
